2. What do you love about your job?

Helping to train the next generation of RI physicians.

 

3. What is the biggest challenge that you face when providing care to your patient population?

Limitations in ability to facilitate needed specialty care including mental health and addiction medicine services.

 

4. What are some healthcare barriers that your non-English speaking patients face?

Difficulty in navigating the complex healthcare system including ancillary services (such as pharmacy, DME) and referrals to providers without someone explaining the intricacies of the system and advocating on their behalf in their native language.

 

5. If you could make one change to the RI healthcare system, what would it be?

Allocation of additional support to primary care providers to encourage trainees to pursue primary care as a career and remain in Rhode Island after completion of their training.
