1. What is your role in the RI healthcare community?

NP and manager for advanced practice providers

 

2. What do you love about your job?

Building programs that address gaps in care in the community for patients with cardiovascular disease Professional development for my teams and mentoring my early career leaders.

 

3. What is the biggest challenge that you face when providing care to your patient population?

Access to care.

 

4. What are some healthcare barriers that your non-English speaking patients face?

Too many to count. Call center and scheduling not available in enough languages. Patient instructions are not translated. Really the entire system lacks the ability to support non-English speaking patients.

 

5. If you could make one change to the RI healthcare system, what would it be?

Improve payer mix and access to primary care.

Department of health is in need of effective leadership.
