1. What is your role in the RI healthcare community?

I am a Nurse Educator at CCRI and I have over 30 years of experience as an RN.

 

2. What do you love about your job?

The students!

 

3. What is the biggest challenge that you face when providing care to your patient population?

When students do not speak the same language as their patients.

 

4. What are some healthcare barriers that your non-English speaking patients face?

Making their needs known, getting questions answered, and receiving emotional support in real-time.

 

5. If you could make one change to the RI healthcare system, what would it be?

We need increased workforce diversity.

We need better security for staff.
